When 2-J Supply decided to close its metal fabrication side of the business, Dean Curry and Charles Melrose saw this as the perfect opportunity to start their own business.  As employees of 2-J Supply, Charles and Dean knew they had the potential to secure business that their employers would no longer be servicing.

With over 30 years of combined experience in the metal fabrication and duct work business, the men are known in the industry for providing a quality product and excellent service.

They contacted their local bank, who suggested they get in touch with the Bluegrass SBDC.  Dean and Charles were very familiar with duct work and fittings, but when it came to purchasing and operating a business they needed assistance.  The two men attended the Pre-Business Orientation offered by the Bluegrass SBDC.  Then, they met with a consultant who assisted in preparing a business plan and financial projections.

“There were many that helped us get our ‘baby’ started and we are very grateful,” the men agreed.
