The Kentucky Small Business Development Center (KSBDC), headquartered at the University of Kentucky’s Office of Commercialization and Economic Development, is introducing a new web site dedicated to promoting business ownership to current members of the armed forces and veterans, their families and their employers that need small business assistance. The web site, www.kyvetbiz.com , is part of the KSBDC’s veterans program which also includes specialized management consultations, entrepreneurial workshops and resources to help veterans start and grow their business and manage deployments.
The web site provides veterans with information about the services available through the Kentucky Small Business Development Center and other organizations that assist veterans. Additionally, the web site includes access to:
• 25 free on-line business courses in English and Spanish
• A calendar of events listing workshops available statewide
• Frequently asked questions about small business ownership
• Downloadable resources including guides about deployment
• A blog discussing popular topics among veteran business owners
• Links to business-related resources
Additionally, individuals can request services from the Kentucky Small Business Development Center via www.kyvetbiz.com.
In addition to the web site, the KSBDC offers a hotline specifically for veterans, their families and their employees looking for assistance in starting or growing their business.
