Recipients of the 2008 Pacesetter Business Recognition Award are featured in a magazine that showcases their contributions to Kentucky’s economy and communities. The magazine was distributed to elected officials, chambers of commerce, economic development agencies and other advocates of small business located throughout Kentucky. The magazine can be viewed and downloaded by visiting the KSBDC web site.
The Pacesetter Business Recognition Program is a new initiative acknowledging high performing second-stage businesses that are changing the economic landscape of Kentucky by introducing innovative products; increasing sales and/or production; boosting employment; and, serving the communities of the Commonwealth.
Winners were recognized at the Kentucky Celebrates Small Business Event held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in Frankfort. In addition to recognition at this event, winners received an award inscribed with their company’s name and a profile of their company in a full-color commemorative program magazine. Additionally, this is an annual recognition; each year, the program will reflect on the success of past winners as a new class of Pacesetters is introduced.
The Pacesetter Business Recognition Program and the Kentucky Celebrates Small Businesses event are a collaborative effort between the Kentucky Small Business Development Center, headquartered at the University of Kentucky’s Office of Commercialization and Economic Development; the United States Small Business Administration; Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development; and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis – Louisville Branch.
