The Kentucky Small Business Development Center has been assisting the Commonwealth’s small business community for more than 35 years. With 13 service centers statewide and an experienced and knowledgeable staff, KSBDC provides unparalleled consulting and training services that help existing business owners and potential entrepreneurs succeed. Our services include: one-on-one management consultations, training workshops, market research, loan packaging help, assistance with financial projections and information needed to make informed business decisions.
KSBDC is co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and is administered by the University of Kentucky in partnership with regional universities, community and private colleges, and the private sector.
We believe our clients have needs and are willing to learn. We know they are entrepreneurial in spirit. We believe our clients are valuable as individuals to us and to the Kentucky economy.
We believe small business is the life-blood of the Kentucky economy and that generating a profit is a worthy goal. We believe business owners must mitigate the risk of business ownership as well as accept the responsibilities associated with the opportunity of owning a business.
We believe our roles are to coach and educate our clients and that we must be open, positive, and knowledgeable in this endeavor. We provide assistance, but do not do our clients’ work. We are also a link to other resources and partners with other business assistance service providers.
To us this means making a difference in our clients’ lives by offering valuable, timely, and meaningful assistance. We make ourselves available to them, and we are courteous and professional.
We will offer uncompromising excellence in all we do.
We will gain the confidence and trust of our clients by keeping all proprietary information confidential and by being honest, trustworthy, and credible in all our dealings–whether we are working with coworkers, clients, or partners.
