Coming on board in 1993, Patricia is the Director of the University of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center located in Elizabethtown, where she provides business management consulting and training. Additionally, she served as the statewide program director for the KSBDC Veterans Assistance Program for four years.
Patricia has a recognized career of empowering entrepreneurs in the successful development, management and growth of small businesses. She has served in local, state and national initiatives, including the KY Commission on Small Business Advocacy, Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board, and Hiring KY Heroes. She developed and coordinated KSBDC statewide initiatives, including programs
for veterans, agricultural diversification, and advanced professional development for the network. She has her Export and Trade Counseling Certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Patricia graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from McKendree College and an M.B.A. from Embry Riddle University. In 2014 she was awarded the Kentucky Association for Economic Development Allied Professional of the year.
Steve Heil has worked with the University of Kentucky Elizabethtown SBDC since 2010. Prior to joining the KSBDC, he spent seven years as a District Executive with the Boy Scouts of America and 20 years in the manufacturing industry, 15 years of which were spent serving as a Plant Manager. Steve is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, having earned a B.S. in forestry in 1982. He is also a Certified Business Advisor, holds a S.B.A. International Trade Certification and has his Export and Trade Counseling Certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration. He is extremely involved in his community, having served as the District Chair for the Boy Scouts’ eight county Old Kentucky Home District, advisor to Venture Crew 147 in Bardstown, board member and board chair for Bethlehem High school in Bardstown, is an active member of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal men’s organization and serves on his church’s Parish Council. Steve has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America since first joining in 1970. Away from work, Steve and his wife enjoy numerous outdoor activities, including hiking and camping, and spending time with their adult children.
